STYLISH LIVING IN SALT LAKE

We’ve been working hard in the last year to continue leaving our mark on the skyline in Salt Lake City. Our efforts have certainly paid off, and we’re proud to share with you one of the newest luxury apartment complexes to open in downtown. There are many things that set theOLIVE apart and reinforce its stature as a “Best-in-Class” residential space.

Our special projects team worked alongside our partners at Steed Construction to make this 136,000 square foot facility into a reality. The six-story complex is loaded with tons of modern amenities, many of which our electricians and technicians helped to install. Throughout the 2-year process we led and coordinated over 60 GSL employees in various electrical construction and installation.

BUILT TO SERVE VARYING NEEDS

Community residents are able to choose from over a half dozen floor plans offering everything from studio apartments to multi-bedroom units with a 1500 square foot floorplan. Each unit is equipped with modern LED lighting, voice/data connection, smart devices for climate control, and premium appliances. In order to ensure that all these features stay operational, our field teams installed a 3000 amp service in the complex. That service is run through three 1200 amp metering switchboards and over 130 branch panels. We also installed a 60 kilowatt generator.

Keeping everything from the parking garage to the rooftop decks connected our electricians ran considerable amounts of conduit and cable. Our field teams ran 281,900 linear feet of ROMEX, nearly 30,000 feet of conduit, 28,000 feet of metal clad cable, and an additional 132,500 linear feet of wiring. This comprehensive electrical system connects nearly 4000 light fixtures and hundreds of switches, outlets, and devices.

SIXTY ELECTRICIANS, ZERO BROKEN LIVES

Construction can be a demanding and challenging industry, and we are grateful for the commitment of all of the trades involved on theOLIVE. Their dedication and coordination was instrumental in ensuring that the construction process was efficient. We are especially thankful for the efforts of the many GSL Electric technicians and electricians on this project, who worked a combined 29,653 labor hours without a single injury or safety incident. It is their hard work and attention to detail has allows us to deliver top-quality projects like this while hitting the safety, schedule, and budgetary goals of the project.

The results of those efforts really speak for themselves. These apartments are brimming with style and technology. It was a privilege to be part of its construction and to have another opportunity work in downtown Salt Lake. We are sure residents of this new community will be able to appreciate luxurious living for years to come.
