LDS Church History Library
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Largely built underground, this state-of-the-art, five-story, 250,000 square-foot building was carefully designed to ensure that the interior temperature, humidity, and lighting best favor the preservation of historic Church records, printed materials, manuscripts, publications, photographs and audiovisual items. GSL Electric was originally contracted for design assist work, which subsequently resulted in handling the entire electrical build out. During the project, the owner also added features previously determined to be outside of the original construction budget, such as security system, dimming system, automatic shade system, fire alarm upgrade, and additional mechanical features and seismic upgrades. that required additional electrical scope. The end result was within the customer’s budget and exceeded their expectations.
