The new Nevada Cancer Institute research Building is a four story structure with thirty-six state-of-the-art research laboratories, along with support offices.  The basement houses a powerful yet sensitive electron microscope, med-gas tank farm and a space for a future vivarium.  The building will be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver classification.

The new eight stories, 354,000 square feet, 165 bed facility includes: 41-bed Emergency Department, 25-bed Women's Center for women's care and maternity services, 6-bed Level II Nursery, 32-bed Intensive Care Unit, 108 medical/surgical beds, Surgical Services for Inpatients & Outpatients, Outpatient Services: Cardiology & Endoscopy, Ancillary Services: Radiology, Respiratory, Laboratory, Pharmacy

The design objective for the Huntsman Cancer Institute was to create a warm environment void of commercial or corporate aesthetics. These facilities are designed with leading-edge technology that includes digital mammography, combined PET/CT scanning, radiosurgery radiation, interoperative radiation, and the latest tools for MRI, bone density, ultrasound, and SPECT nuclear medicine.
