HISTORY

When large industrial or commercial construction projects require professional, electrical installations, GSL Electric is qualified for the job.  With literally thousands of complete projects and years of experience in large and complex electrical installation, GSL continues to serve the construction industry with dedication and reliability.  We have grown steadily from an ambitious beginning to where we are today.  Here is our story—

• Established in 1981 as a small electrical contractor, GSL focused on small commercial and industrial projects in the Salt Lake Valley.  In 1983 GSL expanded its services and established GSL Engineering, focusing on turnkey Design Build Services for our clients.  In 1987 GSL established a branch in Elko, Nevada to service the mining industry and its related growth in Northern Nevada and Southern Idaho.

• Our Salt Lake operations continued to expand.  By 1988 GSL was doing work in other western states, and in 1989 GSL established a third branch office in Las Vegas, Nevada.  In 2002 GSL established yet another branch office in Phoenix Arizona.

• GSL is now one of the largest and most diverse electrical contractors in the Western United States. We were listed as the 57th largest electrical contractor in the United States, as recorded by Engineering News in October 17, 2005.

• Through practical management strategy and focus on regional presence, GSL has grown in size and ability.  We have expanded our comprehensive product and service into eight western states.

• GSL's several divisions have enabled us to perform on a diverse range of project types for both public and private clients, including commercial, industrial, institutional, manufacturing, site utility, and power line-substation projects. GSL has utilized its expertise in pre-construction, value engineering, design assist, and design build services in establishing a successful project portfolio. GSL Electric also has prefabrication, voice/data and low voltage systems expertise, and the ability to deliver a full turnkey solution to a very broad customer base in renovation, tenant finish, and utility and new construction projects.

• Our commitment to in-house and state-sanctioned electrical apprenticeship training, including OSHA and MSHA safety training, has helped set GSL apart in creating a high standard of quality craftsmanship and a high Safety First work environment, supported by GSL's accident prevention program. This dedication to safety, quality and service, coupled with expertise and professionalism, are the critical elements of the philosophy leading GSL into the future.
